The past few days have been interesting. There is a long story to be told about a 30 (her birthday was today) lady we helped who decided to throw away he opportunity we gave her by doing a multitude of terrible things, but I think it would suffice to say that it is sad to see people use their agency to throw away their lives. I’ve seen so many people whom satan has a firm grasp of their hearts. There are people that we’ve talked to that have done all manner of absolutely horrid things, and then turn and lie about it with the utmost sincerity. But it’s there agency and they can do what they want with it, and they will deal the consequences. It just sad to see someone’s agency affect another life.

On a lighter note my companion and I took a family to temple square. We’ve have this part-member family who have been taught for over 5 months by a few sets of missionaries, so we were hoping that this would inspire the dad to finally get baptized. His whole family is fairly active, and he says he believes it, but he just doesn’t feel like being baptized. He is slowly slowly progressing, but progressing nonetheless.
Haha, Elder Fakatou and I got really bored one day when we tried to set up a Temple Square lesson with the Sister, so we came up with a fun way to spell things to them.

Most people say d as in dog.   a as in Apple     v as in van.   E as in elder

But we decided that was boring

Yep. This is the kind of fun you have as a missionary.
I also gave a talk on Sunday. It was the first time I didn’t write out my whole talk and just followed the spirit. It was about taking the talents and blessing God has given you and improving them and using them to help others.
I used the parable of he talents (Mathew 25)
A quote by James E. Faust “Some of us are too content with what we may already be doing. We stand back in the ‘eat, drink, and be merry’ mode when opportunities for growth and development abound. We miss opportunities to build up the kingdom of God because we have the passive notion that someone else will take care of it. The Lord tells us that He will give more to those who are willing. They will be magnified in their efforts. … But to those who say, ‘We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have’
Mathew 5- let your light so shine forth
And the poem Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Wiliamson
We did a crazy hard bike ride today as well. We were going into the wind, uphill for 10 miles. The last third was like a 30 degree incline and more at some points. It was terrible, but hey I’ve lost over 5 lbs so far. Haha
Oh and I tried horse earlier this week. It was disgusting and after the third bite I just about threw up. Togans get really offended if you don’t eat everything thing they give you, so I had my pockets full of taro and horse wrapped in napkins.
I love hearing from all of y’all who do email me. I really appreciate hearing about home. And I’ll leave y’all with a invitation. Go call or go see someone you haven’t talked to for years. See how they’re doing and if there is anything you can do for them. It’s amazing how many people we run into desperately need help, but most people don’t say anything unless we talk to them first.
Happy- Always. Content- Never
